With an aim of becoming the insightful leaders of business and society, Apex Leadership Club organized second edition of ‘Apex Leadership Development Program’ form January 02 to 06. More than 60 enthusiastic MBA students participated in the program. The program was sponsored by Majesty Foundation Pvt. Ltd., SYM Scooters, The Burger House and Crunchy Fried Chicken, TM Dugar Group, Prasid Water Solutions, Columbus Sweets and Bakes, Nestle India and media partner was Himalaya TV. First day was inaugurated by the Principal of Apex College L P Bhanu Sharma. Speaking at his ‘Leadership and Spirituality’ session he said ‘Students need to know their strength, polish it and broaden organizing ability’. Rtd. IGP of Nepal APF Shailendra Kumar Shrestha shared his leadership insights that he gathered in 20 years of military services. Through his immense experience in leading Military organization, he articulated that ‘Leadership qualities should reflect in action’. On the second day through interactive session the participants involved in learning art of communication. During the session of communication skills, the participants portrayed attributes of a leader through objects like flag, mirror, key ring, watch, ants, wheels and clay. On third day with theme problem identification and solving, the participants studied and identified real scenarios problems in areas of ’99 Market’, ‘Nepali Music Industry’, ‘Federalism’, ‘Flyover Bridge’, ‘Chaupadi, ‘Medical Education’, ‘Cricket Association of Nepal’. They also put forward their recommendation to these real Nepalese scenario problems. On the fourth day initiating social campaign ‘We For Society’ the participants involved in different activities like Temple Cleaning, Anti-corruption, Distribution of Face Mask, Wall Poster Removal, Waste Management, Traffic Volunteering and Service in Differently Able Home. They also presented what they learned in front of a large audience. It was evident that the social campaign initiated by the participants helped create positive impact on society. The final day indulged participants into series of prompt decision making exercises. Throughout the event, activities like management games, business cases, quizzes, video presentations, open forum discussions, debate and interactive sessions were conducted to enhance leadership abilities, creativity, critical thinking and innovative ideas.
Group Summit was the winner of Apex Leadership Development Program whereas Group Zenith became the runner up. The winner received cash prize of Rs. 15,000.
